"You will be secure, because there is hope; you will look about you and take your path in safety. But Hope is important because it can make the present moment less difficult to bear."
“It all began on the 23rd of April 2021. Symptoms looked like a normal cool with a manageable congestion. I treated myself with antibiotic. I was pretty sure, it was not COVID-19; so far so good. Cetirizine and paracetamol were working.
I took the RT PCR COVID-19 test on the 24th of April. On the 25th of April I got the report - and I was Positive. Then I started isolating myself and I was completely in isolation for 14 days in a separate room away from my family members. I did not leave my room and my family supported me during these days very much.
From the very beginning I was not worried, because I had no symptoms of COVID -19. The initial four days in home isolation were the toughest. From day one to day three I had a fever. By day five I had lost complete sense of smell and taste. I took Dettol and tried to smell perfumes now and then to get the smell sense back, but it took almost 7 days to regain my sense of smell and taste. I also experienced a lot of disturbed sleep during the nights. By the end of the 10th day I was feeling better, recovered and back to normal life. My health seemed to be in complete control, and I also experienced undisturbed sleep.
In addition to the COVID-19 related symptoms there is the loneliness, anxiety and little depression. But I had to hold on and be brave. I have kept involved in my work, video calls with my colleagues and friends and I took rest whenever required.
I urge all to follow the social distancing norms, wash hands frequently, stay home and obey government guidelines to defeat the COVID-19 pandemic. Keep yourself distracted and stay in touch with family, friends or colleagues.
Thanks to all family members, friends and colleagues for caring, wishing me well and supporting my recovery.”
